FLIPBOARD CEO SLAMS APPLE NEWS APP 'IT'S A CLOSED ECOSYSTEM'

Flipboard CEO had some things to say about Apple's News App.

Mike McCue speaking at a Code Media event and said that Apple's News App was a closed ecosystem and had no curation.  He also said Apple is both a partner and competitor at the same time.

Flipboard launched eight years ago and has over 100 million monthly users while Apple News launched in 2015 with iOS 9 and has over 70 million monthly users.  Here is what McCue had to say:

Apple News as a product is living in the past, the service lacks social sharing capabilities,  there's "no curation happening — it's algorithmic," and pilloried the product as "another format that publishers have to adopt."
"We're not trying to create a closed ecosystem...and that's a big deal for publishers."

Let us know do you guys use either Flipboard or Apple News to get your news content??
